Sports Medicine 1
Sports Medicine 1 is a semester-long course for students interested in health care fields: athletic training, physical therapy, medicine, fitness, kinesiology, nutrition and other sports medicine related fields. Curriculum specifically covers health care planning, disease prevention, medical research and basic anatomy in regards to body systems including how those systems work together. Students may gain CPR/First Aid Certification. Credit from this course can be applied to Career and Technical Education and Science. Please note that cross crediting DOES NOT APPLY FOR MEETING MINIMUM CORE REQUIREMENTS FOR COLLEGES.

Sports Medicine 2
Sports Medicine 2 is a career-based preparatory course, in which students follow a rigorous one-year curriculum in a medical team format. Curriculum includes medical office protocols, healthcare system philosophy, management structures and components. Instruction focuses on blood borne pathogen prevention standards, anatomy and physiology, decision making skills based on scenarios and decisions about pathology. Students gain practical experience in treatment of common sports injuries, injury prevention and diagnosis and the philosophies of treating athletes. Credit from this course can be applied to Career and Technical Education and Science. Please note that cross crediting DOES NOT APPLY FOR MEETING MINIMUM CORE REQUIREMENTS FOR COLLEGES.
