High School & Beyond Night is TONIGHT! Seminars start at 5:30 pm in the PAC with a presentation by UW admissions. After that, there will be a college and career fair with over 40 representatives from 6:00-7:00 pm, then more seminars in PAC 1-2-3 on a variety of topics from 7:00-8:00 pm.  THS Annual Culture Fair: Come help us celebrate the diversity of Tahoma School District at our annual Culture Fair on March 19th from 6:00-8:00 pm! There will be cultural exhibits, performances from Tahoma students (and outside groups), even story time for the littles! There will be several food trucks for you to choose from to have an evening meal as well; an evening filled with food and fun!  Key Club Food Drive: THS Key Club is teaming up with Maple Valley Food Bank for Tahoma School District's Food Drive, happening March 18-22! We're collecting canned and nonperishable goods. The most needed items right now are canned soup (chicken noodle, Top Ramen, vegetable soup), Spam and canned beef, rice, and pasta. Please make sure everything is prepackaged and unopened.  Hygiene Drive: The Feminist Student Union is holding a hygiene drive in honor of Women's History Month! The drive would run from March 18th to March 31st. Please bring period products such as pads, liners, tampons, wipes, and hand sanitizers to donate. There will be a large box outside the FRC where you can donate your items.

 Class of 2024 Yearbook Photo: SENIORS, the Class of 2024 Yearbook photo is scheduled for Wednesday March 20th. You will be dismissed early from your last class, report directly to the upper soccer field closest to the flagpole. RAIN OR SHINE!

 Business Owners: Parents/guardians who own a local business and are looking to hire teens are invited to attend the THS Job Fair for students on April 18 from 2:15-3:15 pm. Email Lara Lindersmith if you are interested [email protected] or call 425-413-3468.

 Bus PassesAt THS, we ask that requests be submitted via email no later than 11:30 a.m. for processing. Click Here to review & submit a pass request. No bus passes are issued on Fridays per transportation. Please call Transportation with any other questions 425.413.3220.

 2024 Senior Yard Signs: Yard signs for the class of 2024 are now on sale through April 4th! Regular $20, personalized $30. Sign pickup is scheduled for Saturday May 4th. Click Here for more information and ordering.

State Testing: The Smarter Balanced Assessments (SBA)  for Math and ELA is coming in April and is the quickest way to meet the Washington State Graduation Pathway requirement. All 10th grade students will be required to test and any 11th or 12th grade student who has not previously passed this requirement has the option to test as well to meet this Grad Pathway. SBA testing will take place during a modified schedule at THS on the following dates:

  • Wednesday (4/17) Math
  • Thursday (4/18) Math
  • Tuesday (4/23) ELA
  • Wednesday (4/24) ELA
  • Thu/Fri (4/25-26) Make-up testing

A separate test, The Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS) will also be administered on April 18th to all 11th grade students. Running start students who are not able to attend the WCAS testing on April 18th may take it on our make-up days (4/25 and 4/26). All regular testing will take place between 7:35 - 10:10am and students not testing will have an alternative learning experience  including a Health & Fitness fair and guest speakers.  Any questions please contact Mr. Maria [email protected]

 Attendance:

**If you feel your student has an error with their attendance, please reach out to the teacher directly and have them contact the attendance office with the correction.

  • Please email [email protected], leave a voicemail at 425.413.6209 or send a note with your student(s) to excuse an absence/late arrival, or need a dismissal for any reason.
  • Please allow at least one hour before needing your student dismissed for an early dismissal.
  • If your student must leave during power hour (10:25-11:25), please call or email at least one hour before power hour begins (10:25).
  • The Attendance Office is on the West side (athletic field entrance).
  • Absences must be excused within 48 hours of the date of absence. If they are not excused within 48 hours, progressive intervention will occur.
  • Parent/Guardian/Physician may excuse an absence.
  • If your student is 18 years or older, they can excuse themselves. Please have them see the attendance office for a form and more information. They will still be accountable for abiding by the attendance policy in the student handbook.
