 Happy Spring Break Bears!! Reminder, when we return to school on Monday April 15TH, it’s a GOLD DAY (periods 5-8).

 MOD Speech/Debate Fundraiser: Speech & Debate will be heading to Nationals in June and would love to have you join them at MOD Pizza TONIGHT (April 10th) to help fundraise for their trip!! 20% of the proceeds will be donated back to their program! Come get some great pizza/salads for dinner and support their national’s journey! ONLINE – USE CODE “MODGIVES20”

 Senior Grad Meeting: SENIORS, there is a mandatory senior meeting on April 16th during Power Hour in the PAC. You’ll get important information regarding Graduation & Josten’s will be here to distribute caps/gowns, announcements, etc. that have been pre-ordered.

 Job Fair: THS will be hosting a job fair for students looking for part-time, summer, and full-time work on Thursday, April 18 from 2:15-3:15 in the Commons. 

 Scholarship Opportunity: Juniors who identify as female and are US Citizens are invited to apply for the $2500 PEO STAR scholarship. Juniors apply now to earn money to go toward college after graduation. Get all the details and fill out the preliminary application here. Look for the PEO STAR Scholarship

 Athletics: Tahoma Cheerleading will be having tryouts April 22-25. Students who wish to try out for the 2024-2025 team must be cleared through Family ID, which is open starting Monday, March 25. Students who register must have a valid sports physical on file and must be good through August 31.  Check out the Tahoma Cheer Instagram page for more information about Cheer. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Clayton in the Athletic Office.

 PTA Senior Art Awards: Tahoma High School 2024 Graduating Seniors can submit up to one piece of artwork in each of the 8 categories; photography, drawing, painting, digital art, ceramics, fashion, and mixed media 2D and 3D art. Winners in each category receive a $50 award, and a Grand Prize winner gets $250. The submission deadline is April 26. Registration details, guidelines and the grading rubric can be found HERE or on the PTA website. 

 2024 PTA Father/Daughter Ball: Please see the attached information and registration form for the 2024 Father Daughter Ball hosted by our PTA. Event date is Saturday April 20th 6-9 pm at THS.

 Sports Letter of Intent Day: Save the Date!!  The THS Athletic Office will be hosting its annual National Letter of Intent Signing Ceremony in the THS Main Gym on Tuesday, May 14 at 4:00 PM.  This ceremony is to honor all THS athletes who have committed to participate at the college-level.  If you have questions, please contact the THS Athletic Office at 425.413.6302.

 Bear Beans: Welcome to spring! It's April already and our specials for the month are Hazelnut Mocha $4, and Peach Sour Candy Italian Cream Soda $3. We now have new Weekly Barista Specials each week so stop by and check out our tempting beverages! Happy Spring Break everyone.

 Off Campus Parking: Students who park off campus in surrounding neighborhoods, please be respectful of personal property, driveways, mailbox areas and designated NO PARKING signs. Illegal parking could result in tickets being issued by the City of Maple Valley.

Bus Passes:  At THS, we ask that requests be submitted via email no later than 11:30 a.m. for processing. Click Here to review & submit a pass request. No bus passes are issued on Fridays per transportation. Please call Transportation with any other questions 425.413.3220.


Attendance:

**If you feel your student has an error with their attendance, please reach out to the teacher directly and have them contact the attendance office with the correction.

  • Please email [email protected], leave a voicemail at 425.413.6209 or send a note with your student(s) to excuse an absence/late arrival, or need a dismissal for any reason.
  • Please allow at least one hour before needing your student dismissed for an early dismissal.
  • If your student must leave during power hour (10:25-11:25), please call or email at least one hour before power hour begins (10:25).
  • The Attendance Office is on the West side (athletic field entrance).
  • Absences must be excused within 48 hours of the date of absence. If they are not excused within 48 hours, progressive intervention will occur.
  • Parent/Guardian/Physician may excuse an absence.
  • If your student is 18 years or older, they can excuse themselves. Please have them see the attendance office for a form and more information. They will still be accountable for abiding by the attendance policy in the student handbook.
