Fundamental English 10
English 10  is a two-semester course that builds upon and improves students’ writing, reading, speaking/listening, language and research skills as outlined in the Common Core State Standards for grade 10. Students read literary and informational texts; write essays in the informative/explanatory, argumentative and narrative modes; and participate in individual and group speaking/listening activities and research projects. Fundamental Algebra Foundations
Fundamental Algebra Foundations is a year-long course that emphasizes both basic skills and problem solving strategies.  The key ideas are: analyze and solve linear equations, use functions to model relationships, investigate bivariate data, real numbers (exponents, rational/irrational numbers), and Pythagorean Theorem. More information can be found in the Fundamental Algebra Foundations Class Syllabus

Academic Skills 10
In this class students will spend time developing reading, writing, study and organization skills, and behavior skills: increasing vocabulary, study skills, self-advocacy, and helpful habits to be successful in all classes. The goal is to help you to discover and to articulate what you think and believe. We will also prepare for Smarter Balanced Testing, large projects in general education classes, and tests. This course is not a homework center.
