This is a tribute page to all of the amazing individuals who are connected through music - Our Tahoma Band. This page is an opportunity for us to celebrate your success and path through life stemming from your days with us. Where ever you find yourself, whenever you have time, however often you would like to send updates, this will be a link to keep you connected to your ensemble members. 

Any Tahoma Band members who were a part of the band through your high school years (even if you moved in or moved out of the district) is invited to send in your paragraph update! If your graduating class year is not listed below, send me your information and I will add it!  Regardless of when in history you were a Tahoma Band member, regardless of your director, this is a place for us to celebrate your legacy!

Sam Paige Instrument: Tuba

Sam Paige graduated from Tahoma Senior High School class of 2015. Following this he started his studies at the University of Puget Sound where he began work in Biology and Music. Over the course of his studies Sam held the Principal Tuba position with the UPS Symphonic Orchestra and the UPS Wind Ensemble. In 2018 Sam began his term as the president for the UPS chapter of the Collegiate Washington Music Educators Association. In the spring of 2019 Sam graduated from the University of Puget sound with a Bachelor's degree of Music Education. In the Fall of 2019 Sam began his studies at the University of British Columbia where he works towards a Master’s of Music in Orchestral Instrument Performance. Sam currently performs with various ensembles at the University of British Columbia including the graduate brass quintet: The Thunderbird Brass. Sam takes a special interest in chamber music, teaching,  and the power that music has to bring mankind together. Currently he is finishing his master’s degree at UBC and taking on new students in his virtual studio.

Sarah Daniels Instruments:  Tbn, Piano, Voice, Flute, & Perc

Sarah Melissa Daniels is currently attending WSU for a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a Minor in Business Administration; she expects to graduate May 2021. Since graduating high school, she’s conducted church choirs, taught music at the Montessori School of Pullman, and Music Directed and Edited Regional Theatre of the Palouse’s Thoroughly Modern Millie. She’s performed in She Loves Me, scenes from Weill’s Street Scene as Mrs. Jones, and A… My Name is Still Alice as various characters. She intends to perform professionally as a career, and start her own studio to teach voice lessons. Her dream roles are Lilli Vanessi from Kiss Me, Kate and the title role of Hello, Dolly!

Nicolas Merle Instruments:  Tuba & Bass Trombone

I am Nicolas Merle, currently on my last year at Western Washington University finishing up a Tuba Performance Degree. I aspire to become a professional tubist in a symphony someday and work each day towards that goal. I look for all playing opportunities I can find and have performed with lots of community groups in the Bellingham area! I've even gotten the chance to perform a concerto with the Whatcom Wind Ensemble and also performed at Benaroya Hall with the Seattle Philharmonic. As I continue my musical journey, I'll be applying for a masters degree in various school and continue looking for teaching experiences to spread the music as much as I can. Here's to bright horizons and the future!

Dakota Huffman Instrument: Tenor Sax

I am currently at the University of Washington, pursuing my BA in Political Science, and a minor in Philosophy. I expect to graduate in march, 2021, if all goes according to plan. I am in the process of applying to law school, and hope to attend the University of Michigan (my first choice) in September, 2021. I'm planning on pursuing a career in public interest law, and I think I would like to work for the WA Attorney General's Office. While I haven't played with any music groups at UW, I have continued playing saxophone. it is something that birngs me so much joy - I am blessed to have had the opportunity to be in the Tahoma Band. So many great memories and great friendships made, in and outside our own band. My fondest days were spent in the band room.

Delaney Smith Instrument: Flute

I am currently attending Grand Canyon University majoring in marketing and advertising. I am a member of the GCU Thundering Heard Pep Band! We mostly play at GCU men and women’s basketball games, and occasionally other sports and school events. Our basketball teams are D1 and GCU goes all out for the games, and the pep band is a big part of bringing the hype. School is a lot different this year, but I am still having a lot of fun at Grand Canyon! I am so thankful for my time in high school as a part of the Tahoma band program, it lead me to great friendships and good experiences. I wouldn’t be where I am today without it. Lots of love!

Grace Tuttle Instrument: Clarinet & Color Guard


I'm going to the University of Washington to study engineering. I'm hoping to major in aeronautical and astronautical engineering with a minor in American Sign Language.


Dallin Weight Instrument: Percussion, Piano & Front Ensemble           

My post high school plan is to go on a mission after this summer is over, which will be two years. After I return, I'm looking forward to going to BYU where I will study Computer Engineering.


Anthony "Tony" Rodriguez Instrument: Trumpet


I plan to get a part time job and start school at Renton Technical College for Automotive Technology.


Cilicia Diaz Instrument: Trumpet


I will be attending the Florida Institute of Technology to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical Science with Flight. After that, I will be partnering with an airline and become an airline pilot. I would like to become a captain at Alaska Airlines, but I am not picky on what exact airline I get into. All I know is that I want to continue flying.


Violet Cole Instrument: Trombone, Euphonium & Color Guard


I plan to go to college for 6 years to get my Master's Degree in Psychology.


Julia Stan Instrument: Eb Clarinet, Bb Clarinet, Alto Saxophone


I am going to Georgia Tech in Atlanta to study Chemical, Biomolecular, and Biomedical Engineering to prepare for Medical School and join the medical field as a surgeon.


Brenna Billings Instrument: Flute & Drum Major


I'm going off to BYU in the fall! I want to work either in Management or Law, and hope to go to grad school in the future!


Cooper "Horse" Kirkham Instrument: Percussion & Drum Line


Commissioning as a Navy Officer.

Next year, I'm going off to George Fox University to pursue Software Engineering and Music Performance, later transferring to Purdue University in Lafayette, Indiana. I'll be playing in small ensembles in the future with my friends on bass and teaching music lessons over the summer. I hope to continue with DCI next season at the Bluecoats world class marching band and win the Jim Ott Trophy.

I am going to Central Washington University for Screenwriting and Creative Direction.

I plan on going to Western Washington University and studying Music Performance and Composition. I hope to become a Composer or Musician at some point in the future.

I will be studying Biology at the University of Washington. After completing my Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, I will be applying to and attending a dental school, pursuing a degree in either DDS or DMD. I plan to start my own dental office one day in Washington. Even though I do not plan on playing the flute or piccolo in college ensembles ,they will remain as part of my hobbies I enjoy on weekends.

I'm going to the University of Washington in Seattle to study Biology. After that, I plan to go to Medical School in hopes of becoming a General Physician :)

I am off to Colorado State University ad starting my freshman year in the fall of 2023. I am majoring in Biomedical Sciences with a concentration in Anatomy and Physiology. After I get my Bachelor's Degree, I plan to go to medical school with the intent of becoming a Forensic Pathologist. 


I am so thankful for the experiences I got to be apart of during my time in the Tahoma Band Program. I am so grateful for everyone I have met through band :)


Instrument: French Horn & Mellophone


I'll be attending Colgate University for undergraduate Political Science. After that I'd hope to attend a Graduate Law School and eventually move on to a career in Law.


Ski 8 days a week, while at BYU - Provo, studying Mechanical Engineering: Aerospace Emphasis.


Instrument: Trumpet


I am going to Oregon State University to study Computer Science. While I currently have no plans to continue playing trumpet, it is something I still am open to if it comes up again, and will always remember the fun that I had in band. 


Beyond college classes, I am going to continue playing disc golf ad practicing taekwondo alongside my classes.

I am off to Green River. I am planning to major in Accounting, but that might change as I find something more interesting that I would want to do as my job. I might also do a minor in making music because that is something I enjoy doing in my free time.

Going off to Bellevue College for 2 years to finish all prerequisites and then transferring to CWU or PLU to major in Music Performance. Also hoping to do DCI and/or WGI before my age out!
