What will traffic and parking be like? There is a large parking lot close to Showare, but traffic is expected to be very heavy, as a large number of students and their families will be trying to make their way to Showare and find parking. We plan to start promptly at 7:00 PM, so please plan accordingly.
What can be brought into Showare? Showare’s policy is clear bags only, just like for the athletic events held at Showare and other stadiums. Please take this seriously, as each year we have several parents who are upset because they bring bags that have to be taken back to their cars. Showare is serious about safety and will not bend on this rule, so please plan accordingly.
How many tickets will my student receive? 6
When will my student receive these 6 tickets? At Senior Checkout Day, which is currently scheduled for June 11, but could change given snow, power outages, etc.
Can students get extra tickets? Sadly, no. This is our largest class thus far, and giving each student 6 tickets is a stretch.
When is the Senior Graduation Meeting? This student meeting will be held on April 20th during Power Hour A in the PAC. At this meeting, students will receive any ordered caps and gowns, and loaners will be available. They will also receive many details about walking partners, graduation rehearsal, the Grad Night event (hosted by PTA), and additional details. Slides and additional materials will be available online for our Running Start students and others who are unable to attend. Information will be placed on the THS website as well.
What can I be doing to support my senior? Focus on attendance each day, as there is typically a dramatic dip in the attendance of seniors, and we need them to finish their 2nd semester strong, so they earn all necessary credits.
When is the last day of school for seniors, and what will it look like? The last day of school for seniors will be June 11, assuming we don’t have to add student days to the calendar due to snow/power outages and the like. Seniors will have the option to participate in the PTA-sponsored Grad Walk at their elementary school or be in class in the morning on June 11th. In the afternoon, all seniors will participate in Senior Check Out, during which they meet with their counselor one last time, get their graduation tickets, turn in computers if applicable, pick up vaccination records, and pay fines.
When is Graduation Rehearsal? We will have a required rehearsal for graduating seniors on June 15th at 9:00 AM in the main gym.
More graduation information will be coming throughout the spring, and additional information can be found on the THS website.
